Wright Taylor's Marco Homes and Fishing Wright Taylor with snook in hand

I received my Captain’s License in 2006 and started taking fishermen and women backwater fishing in the most beautiful place in the world, the 10,000 Islands and the Florida Everglades.  Fishing has always been a passion for me, remember why I’m here, so to be able to fish and sell real estate where the real estate is great and the fishing is even better, you can imagine what it must be like to wake up everyday living your dream.  Everyday in my boat you can see something new, the tide is always changing, and believe it or not the seasons actually change too, so Mother Nature is always on the move out there.

Big fish show up in the spring and people’s attitudes change, on the outside it may seem to be not for the better, on the inside though, it’s all about passion, big fat silvery tarpon just have a tendency to do that to people.  It’s reported that jobs, friendships and even marriages have been lost over this fish, humm, I guess this is very familiar to me as well.  Tarpon fishing in the backwater can be super exhilarating, if you had chest pains in the past, please consult a physician before trying backwater tarpon fishing.  It’s indescribable the emotion that one goes through seeing an 80-150 lb tarpon sitting absolutely motionless 10-50 feet away from you.  After determining the end in which it eats, you then make the cast and pull the fly or lure right across it’s nose, you see it’s interest when it moves it’s pectoral fins and kicks it’s tail ever so slightly, it tracks your lure for a second and then inhales it in what appears to be a mouth the size of a 5 gallon bucket, your line come  tight and the fish EXPLODES into the air as water is sprayed and splashed into every direction, and then it EXPLODES again and then again, drag screaming from your reel as if you’ll never be able to stop this creature.  Your screams and shouts make it sound like you getting beat up in a dark ally, but the funny part is, you’re enjoying every single mille-second of it, and then, you too are hooked on tarpon fishing for the rest of your life, period.
And then there are the snook and the redfish.  While they may not be as glamorous as the mighty tarpon, don’t tell them that or they will surely show you the respect that you need for them.  The snook is the most sought after gamefish in Florida, its ability to readily take lures and flies makes it a delight to all anglers.  And the redfish, similar to the bonefish in its feeding habits, cruises around in shallow water looking for crustaceans, is not at all like the bonefish in the fact that the redfish will cooperate much, much more than the weary bonefish.  The redfish is largely becoming Florida’s favorite inshore gamefish.  These guys fight hard and definitely deserve respect as well.

If you love fishing then you owe it to yourself to try the angling capabilities that the 10,000 Islands and the Florida Everglades have to offer.  The finest way to enjoy your trip is with a professional fishing captain, call me and I can help you either myself or with a number of other captains that I work closely with.  I will do what I can to help you have a trip of a lifetime!
